I recently made a petty for a client with a slimmer, hexagonal Wa handle per their request. I’ve made a few in the past, but I ended up liking it so much I had to employ it again, this time tweaking my gyoto profile to match!
The results are absolutely killer with a light and agile blade that performs like a dream.

8 1/2” blade in vg10 stainless San mai at 61hrc
5 1/2” wa handle in stabilized curly sapele with a mammoth tusk bolster and brass spacer and mosaic pin
A matching saya with mammoth pin completes and protects.
